The purpose of the Lacon Public Library District is to serve the informational, cultural, educational, and recreational needs of all District residents, regardless of age, race, religion, or educational background.

Residents within Lacon’s city limits are members of the Lacon Public Library District.

Residents outside the city limits of Lacon may purchase a Lacon Public Library District library card for $60.00 per year.

Lacon Public Library District is part of Alliance Library System located in East Peoria, Illinois. Alliance Library System is one of nine multitype systems cooperating to provide essential services to the citizens of Illinois.
