The purpose of the Lacon Public Library District is to serve the informational, cultural, educational, and recreational needs of all District residents, regardless of age, race, religion, or educational background.

Residents within Lacon’s city limits are members of the Lacon Public Library District.

Residents outside the city limits of Lacon may purchase a Lacon Public Library District library card for $80.00 per year.

Lacon Public Library District is part of Rails Library System located in Burr Ridge, Illinois. Rails Library System is one of two multitype systems cooperating to provide essential services to the citizens of Illinois.
